Born This Way by Carol Robson

Born This Way.

The homophobes rally
governments and religions
cultures and societies
the elite
the ignoramus
and of course
the misanthropes.

Attacked by the homophobes
condemned by the abusers
priming the vulnerable
or do not accept
their own sexuality
yet continue
to live and pray
in their religious
patriarchal society
while wearing frocks
and a leader
with a penchant
for red shoes
who orders
don’t do as I do
but as I say
and they tell me
because I’m gay
that I’m destined
for eternal damnation.

Government’s corrupted
living with corruption
self-serving beliefs
lining their pockets
screwing the vulnerable.
I’m gay
and they reckon
I’m the one
who is “Bent”

Understanding
Acceptance
we are real
we won’t go away
we don’t corrupt
we are not a lifestyle
we were born this way.

A Love Nurtured In Blood by Carol Robson.

Poem from the revised/edited 2nd edition of Words of Darkness and Light published by Thynks Publications.

A Love Nurtured in Blood (Sapphic)

And now my life is flashing by,
Four hundred years upon this earth.
My ancient love, the reason why
You gave to me immortality.

Made me your bride in ancient times,
Spent together, living on.
We sucked blood, we bit new flesh.
We drained life force and felt refreshed.

Creatures nightly moved in shadows,
Centuries of blood-fueled lust;
All societies, all fair game.
Folklore and legends we became.

I’ve seen wars and cruel destruction.
I’ve seen horrors – genocide.
I’ve seen torture, men and women.
I’ve seen little children slain.

My love’s now gone and I grow weary,
My body weak with skin now scarred,
Flashes of sunlight drive me to twilight,
Retreating to my shadowy home.

No longer I yearn for fresh, warm blood.
I’ve been here for far too long.
Alone without you, longing for you.
Peace invites me as I come home.

Words of Darkness and Light (Poetry Collection)

Words of Darkness and Light

Revised 2nd edition of my first poetry collection 48 poems Words of Darkness and Light

I Love You Marvin.

I wrote this during my melancholy period which if I remember right was one August Saturday night after a few drinks around midnight.

I Love You Marvin

Time for me time
no longer giving to your time
I’m drained of energy
sort yourselves out
find somebody else to ask
there is always another mug
willing to listen
wishing you, would shut the fuck up.

My brain has gone to mush
years and years of listening
blah blah blah blah
same old stories repeated
get a fucking grip
you are the genius
the genius that can sort it
get a life, move on.

OMG I’ve turned into my hero
my morose, paranoid hero
you make me laugh, and cry
like you; ‘I didn’t ask to be made’
but at least I do have friends
your only friend was the rat
and he died in the cavity of your left ankle
I love your eternal brilliance
I love you for just being you
my Marvin the Paranoid Android

Truth by Carol Robson.

Truth

Openness is a fine virtue
that does leave you naked
to be raided by the bone pickers
scavenging for your faults
to bring substance to their sad lives
so they can troll their messages
of lies and innuendo’s.

Yet the trolls will never ascend
to the beauty of your soul
that shines from beneath
the layers of your humanity
that shows the very truth
of your beautiful pure nature.

Acceptance by Carol Robson

Acceptance

Accepted for being you
but were you really?
Really didn’t get to know
the real beautiful you
their loss, not yours.

You accepted who you are
as did true friends
not just for entertainment value
or being politically correct.

This is my personal view
being different doesn’t suck
actually it bloody rocks
and I don’t give a fuck.
